A Great Surprise!

A mystery box was on our doorstep when I got home from work tonight - check out what was in the box! An adorable diaper "cake" from my wonderful sister-in-law and her family. The sweet card said that Kelli, David, Trent and Taylor are looking forward to meeting their new nephew and cousin!

What's in a name?

Turns out a lot...now that we know we're having a boy, we've started the great name debate. It seems that this may be harder than one might think. Scott suggests a name which I don't like - I suggest a name that he doesn't like, then we are back to ground zero.

I'm sure we'll find the perfect name soon enough but it isn't going to be a short road. We've had several people ask if we are going to share the name when we decide and honestly we haven't decided. At this rate, it might be a while!

Super Tuesday

Today was the big day we had been waiting for - we got to learn the gender of the baby!! Drumroll please......it's a BOY! We're super excited!

The doctor said everything looked good - he is measuring right on track for where he should be at this point. He weighs 1lb right now and was moving all around during the sonogram, putting his hands and feet over his head. The sono tech was even able to snap a picture of him yawning - see below!!

A Big Week

This is the long awaited week when we get to find out the gender of the baby - assuming he or she cooperates! Keep your fingers crossed! Stay tuned - I'll let you know as soon as we find out on Tuesday!

Ready for Visitors

We finished painting and moving the furniture into the new guest room today. I'm really happy with how it turned out - we have a few finishing touches to add, like rugs and towels in the bathroom, but it's pretty much done! Come on over - we're ready for visitors! Next up - the baby's room!

Nursery Plans

We ordered furniture for the nursery, and in eight 'short' weeks, it will arrive! The picture is the crib we chose, and we chose a dresser similar to the pic except it has six drawers.

I still don't have a great idea of what I want the baby's room to look like - I think I will be influenced by the fabric we pick out for the baby bedding. I've looked at some fabric online - there are soooo many options. My mom and I are going to make the bedding!

Last weekend we officially started the room preparations for the baby. We (aka Scott) started painting the room that will become the guest room so we can move all of the furniture out of the old guest room (the new baby's room) and into the guest room.
