A Four Legged Paint Brush
I spent the day scrapbooking with friends today and Scott and Madison painted the baby's room. Yep...Scott AND Madison. I received this text message from Scott:
By the time I talked to him he was able to laugh about this but I imagine it wasnt so funny at the time. The message cracked me up! There are a few lingering paw prints in the carpet but they are not too noticeable.
Here is a sneak preview of the freshly painted room as well as Madison's paint covered collar ( aka her painting clothes).

"Madison and I were talking about how you wanted to add animals to the wall. She got the idea of jumping in the paint tray and then turning in circles on the carpet. This made great paw prints. We both looked at it and thought you wouldn't like it. So I got it cleaned up and there are no more paw prints. Just wanted you to know Madison is helping. I think I am going to give Madison a bath now."

All is well
I had my regular monthly doctor appointment last week. This time I had to do the glucola test where you drink the sugary orange liquid to test for gestational diabetes. I have been into sweets lately - Skittles, Sour Patch Kids - yum. :) Scott suggested I ask the doctor if I could just eat a package of Sour Patch Kids and skip the glucola liquid. LOL I wasn't so sure she would be amused by that one. :)
Luckily I passed the test - I've heard the three hour test you have to take if you fail the first one is no fun.
Otherwise the doctor said everything looked fine, we heard the heartbeat and it was right where it was supposed to be! When she was listening for the heartbeat you could hear that he had the hiccups - wonder when I'll be able to feel that?

Bouncing Birthday Fun
Sorry for the looong delay between posts - I always have good intentions and ideas of posting then get home and forget or get sidetracked. A couple of weekends ago we went to Topeka to celebrate Tren't 6th Birthday. Hard to believe he's already six - I feel like he was just a baby!!
Kelly and David got Trent a trampoline for his birthday and everyone had a great time jumping on it. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more - the kids or the adults. :)

Here is the birthday boy blowing out his candles.

We were SO happy to hear that Trent wanted a K-State shirt for his birthday! He was super excited when he opened it! A future wildcat maybe? :)

Finally - a fabric decision
I've been searching for the perfect fabric for the baby's room and I've FINALLY found it. No more obsessing and searching, this is it!
This fabric will be the bedskirt.

This fabric will be the bedskirt.

All of these other fabrics will be used in the quilt and throughout the room. We're going to make several bed sheets - one out of each of the polka dots and one out of the multi colored stripe fabric. I think the curtains will be the multi colored stripe with the leaves at the bottom.
Next up I need to decide what color to paint the walls so Scott can get started. I'm thinking a turquoise or light blue...stay tuned! :)
