Practice

Last weekend we went to Manhattan for Kevin and Melissa's wedding. It was a great weekend and go figure - I took lots of pictures. So, we're going to have it in a few posts.
The weekend started off with the rehearsal dinner at the train depot. If you're familiar with Manhattan, you've probably seen the train depot right as you come into town. It was neat to see the inside of the building after driving past it for so many years.

Sandy had a good time with Karsten

Cute train centerpieces!

Everyone had a 'ticket' at their seat. Very cute!

Karsten was worn out by the time we came back to the train depot for dessert. He slept through the entire thing!

After the rehearsal, they had a dessert for family and friends back at the train depot. Here we are with Linda and Leland.

more practice

A few more pictures from Kevin and Melissa's rehearsal dinner.

Troy (one of the groomsmen) and his wife Christy were responsible for the well dressed flamingo wedding party.

Seriously Cute

Kenna recently took Karsten's six month pictures and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. She just posted a sneak peek and I LOVE THEM! They are wondeful! I thought it was hard to choose pictures for the 3-month and newborn shoots, but wow...

These really capture his little personality!

If you're in the KC area and looking for a photographer for your kids or family - you must check out her site, Finding Focus Photography. You might see some pictures of someone you know. :)

Baby Yoga

When Karsten gets on all fours like he wants to crawl, he often straightens his legs and looks like he's doing the Down Dog yoga pose. He'll do that for a few seconds then go back to all fours - we're not sure if this is working up to crawling or what he's doing.

Karsten teaching Scott his moves tonight. Practicing crawling. Madison thinks this is all so they can play with her.

Scott and Karsten doing baby yoga. Hilarious - cracked me up.

What me - why is this funny mom?

Just Cause...

I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the pictures I took of Christmas festivities with Linda, Leland, Kelli, David and the boys - so I'm going to procrastinate for at least one more day and post some cute pics of Karsten I took today.

It was so cold here today so when we were getting him ready for church I knew he had to wear something super warm! I think he ended up looking pretty cute.

Another New Year's Eve

Jen, David and Eden came over to celebrate New Year's Eve. Earlier this week, Jen reminded me that 10 years ago we also spent New Year's Eve together welcoming the year 2000. Remember all of the hype and doomsday scenarios for Y2K? We took our chances and went to dinner on the plaza then a carriage ride at midnight. There was no one out that evening - the plaza was completely empty at midnight. Check out Jen's blog for pictures of our Y2K celebration. Don't laugh at how young we look. We wanted to recreate the picture on the stairs but didn't have anyone to take the picture. Maybe in another 10....

Back to the present day...Eden and Karsten entertaining each other while we had appetizers.

Posing in front of the tree. This was the best one we got with them both looking in the same general direction.

And cause you can never have too many pics in front of the Christmas tree - here's another... `

Karsten and Scott playing

After the kids went to bed, we played Wii for a bit. Wii asked Jen this question - hilarious.

It was a great night - hope everyone has a wonderful 2010. We're looking forward to a great year!

Choo Choo

We went to Fritz's train restaurant today for lunch. A few friends had been there and said kids Trent and Taylor's age would love it.

They only had booths that fit 4 or 6 people so we sat in two booths across from each other.
Karsten slept through lunch all bundled up and cozy - we'll definetely take him back when he's older. I bet he loves it!

Leland, Grandma, Linda

Scott and I - look at all of the train tracks in the background!

Their food arriving and David getting it off the tray.

The train with our food arriving. The trains go fairly quickly and don't really slow down when they drop the food basket on your tray. It's a pretty cool system they have!

Our tray lowering after the food basket was dropped. An onion ring was trying to escape.
