My Tie!

We're always amazed at the details that Karsten remembers about things that happened a long time ago. We were in his room getting ready for bed the other night and he found this tie in one of his drawers.  He wore it for Easter when he was about 9 months old, so it's a bit short for him right now.

He wanted to wear it but we told him it didn't fit anymore then showed him that it wouldn't go over his head.  He pointed to the clip in the back of the tie and said 'no daddy, you have to undo that'.  LOL - can't slip anything past him!

So, here he is wearing the tie because really, how could you not put it on him when he told you how to open it.  He insisted on having it on before we put his PJs on. Kind of reminds me of these pictures when he was six months old.

And here he is with his PJs on.  Forgive the crazy lighting!

Go cats!

We're football fans in our house, but we cheer on the Cats regardless of which sport they're playing.  The boys wore their purple gear to support K-State in the Big 12 tournament.

Liam looked so cute in his K-State shirt.  He got this shirt from my friend Amy, who is probably the biggest KU fan I've ever met.  So nice of her to buy us a K-State shirt!

Karsten didn't want to hold still for me to take a picture.

A fleeting moment when I caught him standing still.

This is how old he is - he says two but shows a whole hand.  I think he knows that he needs to show less fingers but he doesn't yet have the coordination to get it done.

He knows how to work those baby blue eyes to get what he wants.  :)

Now What?

Liam had a fussy day at Gail's yesterday.  I thought we were past the fussiness with the new formula; however, it seems that I was wrong.

He's been drooling a lot and putting his hands in his mouth, so my new theory is that his teeth are bothering him.  Karsten got his first tooth when he was about five months old, so it makes sense that Liam could be thinking about getting his first tooth.

Today, I sent Liam to Gail's with a new Wubbanub pacifier (thanks Grandma!). To date he hasn't really been a pacifier baby; however, he seems to like to 'chew' on it lately and if it makes him happy, I'm all for it!

I texted Gail several times throughout the day and he was doing much better than he had on Monday.  She sent me a couple of pictures of him with his Wubbanub.  Guess it's going to be the secret charm this week.

Crazy hair

Liam's hair is a challenge sometimes.  When it was a bit shorter, it did a super cute fauxhawk.  He has two cowlicks in the front of his hair, so it wants to stand up anyway.  Now that it's a bit longer, it looks silly standing up, but the darn cowlicks won't let it lay down.  I think it will take us a while to find the perfect hairstyle for Liam - especially since I don't plan to get his haircut anytime soon! :)

PJ Day

I love a lazy day when we don't have to get out of our PJ's.

Karsten-isms

I was inspired by a friend's blog to share the cute, fun things Karsten says. So, here it is - the first edition of Karsten-isms.
  • When Karsten helped Scott bring in the local newspaper (you know, the free one you get once a week), they were looking at it when Karsten kept saying 'you did this, you did this'.  Scott didn't know what he was talking about so he looked at the paper - sure enough - there was an article about the Polar Bear Plunge.
  • 'Sure thing' or 'sure I can' is the answer to many questions we ask Karsten.  I much prefer this answer to NO.
  • We stopped by my office after I picked the boys up from daycare because I needed to retrieve my cell phone which I left on my desk.  When we walked in, he said 'this is a real nice office you have mommy'.  LOL - thanks buddy.
  • We were driving home from Gail's on a day when Karsten was a bit too chatty during naptime and didn't take a nap.  He was not in a good mood and everything I said was causing drama.  At one point, he looked out the window and said "THOSE CLOUDS ARE TOO MANY" in a whiny voice.  It was kinda hard not to laugh when he was very serious.
  • He stands on his 'stippy toes' to see something on the counter.
  • He likes to 'sneak on you' in the morning when he gets out of bed.
  • I apparently say 'oh my goodness' a lot, because now he says 'OH goodness'.
