Playing
During the baby showers before Karsten was born, we received a few toys for when he got a little bit older. We decided to get out a few new toys this week - Karsten (and Scott) had fun playing with them!
I love how he's looking at Scott like....cool Dad, make it light up again!

He had fun looking at the animals on the side of the top.

No matter where he put his hand in this toy there was something fun to look at and play with.
After all that playing, he was tired and it was time for a story before bed.

Tiny Toes
One of Karsten's favorite activities lately is grabbing at his toes. Regardless if he's sitting or laying down, he's aways grabbing. He's even figured out how he can get to his toes while sitting in his car seat. Occasionally we'll have to take off his socks because they'll get soggy from being chewed on. Silly Karsten.

Catching Up
I told myself I wouldn't blog until I got the Christmas letter written. I know those two things don't really relate to each other but it made sense somehow.
Karsten has had a cold for about a week now - he had a cough and a stuffy nose, but I think he's starting to get better. A few of the other kids at daycare had croup so I'm thankful that he avoided that! Seems like I should knock on wood!
Last weekend Mike and Pat were in town. Mike is Chuck's cousin and since our family is so small we have spent many family events together. It was great to see them and catch up on how everyone is doing. Scott and I went to the holiday party for Scott's work on Friday night while Chuck, Shannon, Mike and Pat watched Karsten. I'm sure he was the star of the evening with 4 people to dot on him!
On Saturday we all had lunch before they set off to do some Christmas shopping.
Chuck, Shannon and Karsten.

Karsten discovered Chuck's watch. He has so much fun 'playing' with it.

Karsten was worn out and slept through lunch.

Mike and Pat were learning how to use their new phones at lunch.

It was a great weekend!

Cool tree, cute baby
Each year our lobby is decorated beautifully for the holidays. There are poinsettas and little evergreen plants all throughout the building. It's very festive! When I saw the decorations in the lobby, I knew I HAD to bring Karsten up some weekend and take his picture in the fantastic green chairs in front of the super cool tree.
These chairs were perfect for Karsten to sit in!

I love the lime green, turquoise and red theme. So festive yet not the traditional red and green theme.

These packages and train were such a fun compliment to the tree. Karsten didn't immediately see the train...
In the green chair again - this time with a pretty snowflake.

Super Jenn
Check out the adorable new header for my blog. I wish I could claim it but it's all Jenn's handiwork. I saw the quote in a magazine and immediately thought of this picture of Karsten.
The pictures were taken by the talented Kenna Skinner - her website will be coming soon. Watch for a link!
