Late peak at Karsten's 9 month pics

I realize that Karsten will be 11 months old (how did that happen - where did time go!!) in 2 short weeks; however, I'm finally getting around to posting a little preview of his 9 month pics that Kenna took. I love how she capured him perfectly!

WORLDS of Fun

The company I work for sponsored a day for all of the employees and our families at Worlds of Fun. Since Karsten is too little to ride the rides, we thought we would just go and walk around the park.

It turned out to be a rainy, dreary day but when Karsten woke up from his afternoon nap, it wasn't raining so we decided to head for Worlds of Fun.

Taking a stroll - watching dad

This is how he sat the most of the day - there was so much for him to watch, he had a great time!

Waiting for the train to leave.

Karsten on the carosel. When I put him on the horse he wasn't so sure what was going on, then he started to look around at the lights and the other horses and smiled (but not for the camera of course)

Scott was holding him while the carosel was going and Karsten was giggling and squeeling. He and Scott were having a great time launching together.

After all that walking around, we needed a break for a funnel cake.

We stopped at Red Robbin for dinner on the way home. On the way out he got to pick a balloon since he had been such a good boy all day.

He played with the balloon for a bit on the way home - eventually I had to take it away from him because he was trying to bite it. I saw that going very poorly - a loud balloon pop would have scared all of us.

Overall a wonderful day as a family!

That Tongue

Ever since Gaga taught Karsten to stick his tongue out, now he does it all the time. Lately he's discovered that he can grab his tongue and he's getting better at moving it back and forth. Often while he's playing he will have his little tongue out while he's concentrating on what he's doing.

Book Company

Several people have asked Scott and I who he used to make the book of blog posts (so cool BTW - it's my new coffee table book).

Here you go!

Happy creating friends!

oooo, it's here!

My mother's day present came in the mail today - I was so excited to see it. I've wanted to make a book of my blog for quite some time; however, it's just one of those things I never get around to doing (heck - it's hard enough to keep you all posted of what's going on).

Scott did a great job putting it together - it was the perfect Mother's Day gift. I could have sat there and read it all night - but instead I'm telling you about it. :) I think over time it will be cool to have all of these daily memories documented in a book form that we can flip through and read.

This is one of my favorite pics of my guys. Jenn captured this fantastic picture minutes after Karsten was born.

The dedication page of the book.

Here is an example of what one of the pages look like. All the pictures and blog posts are included!!

Exploring...

Karsten is doing a great job at cruising along furniture - now he can move along his toybox and get to the toys he wants. He will let you know if he can't reach the toy he wants!

Pondering which one he should work towards.

Looks like he chose the blocks...

Next, he realized he could move his highchair. He was giggling to himself as he pushed it across the floor. He was crawling with just his knees because his hands were on the highchair. He was pretty proud of himself.

One Lucky Mom

I had a wonderful first mothers day - my day started with breakfast in bed and then I got to open my cards from Scott and Karsten before church. Karsten showed off his future art skills on my mothers day card. I think he may have had a bit of help from Scott. :)

Karsten and Scott got me the beautiful plant you see in the picture AND a book of my blog posts! The book is in the mail on it's way to us, so I'll have to wait patiently. I'm so excited!!

Reading my card from Karsten

This cheesy smile of his cracks me up!

We had my parents over for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. We decided my first mothers day was a good occasion to open one of the bottles of wine we bought when we were in Napa a few years ago.
I was taking the picture of the glasses with the wine when Scott set Karsten's sippy cup of water on the counter so I could put it on the table. I thought it was a good addition to the pic - showed that Karsten is here with us now. :)
Grandma and Grandpa did a great job entertaining Karsten while we finished getting dinner ready. They were tearing tissue paper from my gift - it provided ENDLESS fun and giggles.

We got a lemon meringue pie for dessert because it's Shannon's favorite. She decided Karsten would like to try some - she didn't know that she would end up sharing her pie with him. He is fan of lemon meringue pie!!
