What we've learned

I can NOT believe it's already been three months. Karsten is growing so fast, I've gone back to work - where has time gone? I miss my mornings snuggling with him in the recliner while he eats then we nap.

Just like month 1 and month 2, here is the list of what we learned this month:

*Karsten's smile can make your whole day!

*When clothes say 3 months that doesn't necessarily mean that's when he will wear it. Baby clothing sizes are tricky!

*Babies spit up - that's just what they do. I'm trying to quit worrying that it's a problem.

*Bibs are key - it keeps us from having multiple wardrobe changes.

*Don't get dressed for the day until Karsten has already eaten.

*Always have one or two burb cloths near. If you don't you will inevitably need one.

*Going back to work and leaving him at daycare for the first time was the hardest thing I've ever done. It helped to know he was going to a wonderful place, but so hard to leave him. Doing a test run the day before was the best advice EVER!

*Evenings FLY by. It seems like we just finish dinner and play for a bit then it's time to start the bedtime routine. When he starts to go to bed earlier, it's going to be even shorter!

*I love coming home from work and nursing him.

*Teamwork continues to be important to getting all three of us ready in the morning.

*You can have your baby in head to toe blue and someone will still say "what a cute little girl!" Seriously people...

*I enjoy chatting at Karsten as we drive to and from daycare and work. Occasionally he coos and talks back to me.

*Putting him in the Bumbo seat right after he eats isn't a good idea - it makes him spit up every time.

*We don't know how he does it, but he is a wiggle worm in his crib at night. He will move from the top to the bottom or turn himself all the way around.

*Getting stuff done isn't as much of a priority as it used to be. Laundry waits a little longer to get folded, the house has more dust than I would like, there's a bit more clutter than I prefer...but I would rather hold Karsten than do any of it.

*I need to put him down more often so we can have more tummy time (we'll see if that improves for month 4).
