A visit from Elam!

The other night Jen, David, Eden and Elam came over for dinner and to hang out for the evening. Karsten and Eden had fun playing and Elam seemed to enjoy the playmat - at least it kept him happy while we ate!

After dinner we went to the park to play. Karsten's favorite part was the slide - we tried to put him on the swing after a few times on the slide, but he was having none of that. He was only interested in the slide.

Weeeee - he loved it when Scott caught him at the end.

That looks like a sleepy boy.

Eden was serving Jen dinner. I don't remember how much she said everything cost, but she had very exact numbers that Jen was supposed to pay.

Then Karsten realized he could go down the slide on his tummy. Check out the static in his hair - it was standing straight up each time he went down the slide.

After he went down the slide on his tummy, he decided he wanted to climb back up the slide. He can do this on the little slide in our backyard, but didn't have much luck climbing this big slide.

Eden had fun on the swings!

Then we wanted to get a picture of Eden and Karsten. This was about as good as we got - you can actually see both of their faces, so I will consider that a win. :)

He sat at the top of the slide and gave Jen this huge grin!

Then Scott got to go down the slide with Karsten. I'm not sure Karsten was happy about sharing the slide.

Karsten wasn't too happy to leave the playground, so we decided to swing him between us. He loved it and giggled each time we swung him into the air. Our camera had trouble capturing the picture since it was getting dark and we were moving, but I still like this picture.

Shortly after this picture was taken, Karsten was walking with us toward the car and he totally wiped out. Face first into the concrete and it made a horrible sound. He immediately started screaming and I grabbed him and checked to see if he was bleeding. Luckily he wasn't bleeding, his teeth were fine, looked like he would just have a big bruise. He calmed down after a few minutes, but it started to develop quite a bump. I checked him several times after he went to bed, and he was doing ok. I think it scared me more than it actually hurt him. Guess I'll need to get used to scrapes and bruises - there are likely a lot of them in our future.
