Plan B was Little Monkey Bizness and 'train food' at Fritz's. We got to Lil Monkey Bizness at 9:15am (they opened at 9am) and there was still a line to the door. There were already a lot of people in there and they just kept coming - it was packed! Guess more people were off for Veterans Day than we assumed!
I thought Karsten would find a ball or a slide as soon as we got there - nope, he found this car and pushed it all over the place for a looong time! He did a great job navigating the crowd and didn't mow over any little ones or smash into the toes of any moms or dads! He made faces and watched the other little boy in the mirror - too funny
Eden was a little monkey and climbed to the top of this volcano....and got stuck. We probably looked pretty comical, Jenn was trying to give Eden instructions on how to get unstuck because she was wearing Elam and couldn't climb up there to help her. I was trying to keep an eye on Karsten and figure out how I could climb up and help Eden down. It sure seemed like several minutes, but I'm sure we had her down from there in a minute or so - I found a place to climb up a few feeet and help her down. That little monkey tried to climb right back up to the top, but Jenn managed to detour her to another part of the volcano!
This was Jenn detouring Eden to another part of the volcano.
Elam had a good time watching everyone - he is such a happy little guy!
Karsten had a good time walking around in this little rainbow house - he was pretty proud of himself when he pressed his face up against the glass. I love that he was obviously having a great time!
Karsten found a ball and found his way into the bottom of the volcano. That little tongue of his is coming out more frequently again. I wish I knew what he was thinking here...
Eden had a great time climbing on this big inflatable. There were two 'baskets' on the front and she liked climbing up the tunnel and popping out of the baskets.
Karsten came over to play with Eden - he mostly watched her bounce and climb around. I thought he wasn't a huge fan of this toy since he just walked a few inches them plopped down (repeat and repeat), but when we tried to move along to something else, he was NOT a happy boy.
After about two hours of playing, we decided it was time to head to Fritz's to beat the lunch rush. I wasn't sure what Karsten was going to think of the train hat - but as soon as I put it on him he didn't try to take it off once. I was impressed! He kept saying 'at' and pointing to his head - it must be a silent 'h'. :)
I think Karsten and Eden were worn out - they both had that blank stare as we waited for our food.
Elam was worn out too - watching all those kids play can wear a lil guy out!
Then the first train came by - they were so excited!
Karsten kept saying "Oooo" and pointing each time a train would go by!
Then finally it was our turn. The train carrying out food had arrived and dropped our food off on the little platform that lowered to our table. Eden and Karsten watched in awe.
Check out that little container in Karsten's left hand...it's a Bare Minerals makeup container. He always wants to play with the container while I put makeup on, so when I had an empty one we washed it out for him. He gets good practice with wrist rotation as he tries to get the lid on and off. It made it's way to my car one morning, which is how it made it into lunch with us today. I'm choosing my battles...I could have left the container in the car, but it wasn't worth the unhappy, crying little boy.
Enjoying his lunch...notice the container STILL in his hand. It was nice and sticky by this time. :)
Karsten and Eden just chatting
One happy group of train engineers. They were full and sleepy - time to go home for a nap! It was a great morning!
