4 month pictures

Remember when I said we were having Liam's 3 month pictures redone?  I got them back from the photographer this week (she's super speedy!) and LOVE them.  I don't know how I will decide which ones to hang in the house - I think I need a LOT more wall space for pictures!

Check out KJane Designs - she's definitely our new photographer for our family's pictures! I've already scheduled our next sessions with her and can't wait!

Made with Love

I haven't been good about taking pictures of the cute shirts my mom made for the boys recently.  I was able to get both boys in their matching Easter/spring shirts - aren't these shirts adorable?

This look says 'mom, why the heck are we taking pictures in the morning. I'm still sleepy!'  I thought we should take a picture in the morning because Liam does not always come home in the same clothes he goes to Gail's in - he occasionally gets his clothes dirty and I didn't want to miss the photo opp.

This is the 'cheese' smile.

There's a real smile AND Liam was looking at the camera!  Yipee!

Look mom, there's a kite on Liam's shirt!

And the quite adorable Easter bunny shirt!

This is Scott trying to convince Karsten to sit by Liam so I could take a picture.  Since you'll note that there isn't a picture of Karsten next to Liam in the chair, we didn't succeed.  It was more fun for Karsten to tease Scott and keep running away.  :)

These adorable toes have nothing to do with the shirts, but they're so darn cute.

ABCD and cupcakes

What do ABCD and cupcakes have in common?  Not so much, really; however, I wanted to share these cute pics.

Karsten got this cute onesie from my friend Karla when he was a baby.  I love the play on AC DC and Karsten looked super cute in it.  ?I wasn't sure if Liam would be able to wear it because of the season differences, but thanks to our unseasonably warm spring, he's now wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts.

Now for the cupcake part. My mom made these yummy cupckes and Karsten was enjoying every bite. I think they must taste better when there is more frosting on your face!

Karsten still likes Liam to sit right next to him at dinner, 'cause he's my baby brother'.  Hard to argue with that!

Let's Get Growing

Last year we grew tomatoes with moderate success.  We enjoyed having fresh, home-grown tomatoes to eat.  It made us branch out and find new recipes because sometimes we couldn't keep up with the tomatoes. This year we're expanding our garden beyond flowerpots into a real garden. You know when I say 'we', I mean Scott, right? He's the brains and skill behind growing anything green.

Scott broke ground on the garden this week and he had an adorable little helper.  They had so much fun working together outside.  I think Karsten will enjoy watching the seeds he plants in the garden grow into food we eat!

Picture re-do

You may remember that we had Liam's three month pictures last month.  Unfortunately, we got them back from the photographer and I wanted to cry.  They were not good and there was only one I would even consider hanging on our wall.  Jenn wisely encouraged me to tell the photographer that I was not satisfied with the photos - the photographer apologized for my disappointment (not the pictures) and that was the end of it.

Luckily, Kenna recommended another photographer and she's AWESOME!  We had Liam's 4 month pictures with her this morning and it went GREAT.  I think she got some great pictures of Liam and a few good ones of both boys.

After we got done with pictures, we made a stop at Grandma and Grandpa's so I could feed Liam (they lived closer than our house and Liam was HUNGRY!) We then headed home for naps and playing!

The orange phone has been Karsten's favorite toy lately.  He decided that Liam would 'prolly' like to play with it too, so he's sharing it with him.

Not sure what he was telling him, but it made Liam laugh!

Laim got to try out the swing for the very first time.  He enjoyed looking around and was all smiles while he was swinging.

The yellow straps were fascinating to him - he wanted to eat them.

Catching bugs

With that title, I bet you were expecting to see a picture of Karsten outside catching a bug or stomping on an ant outside, right?  Nope, when the sunlight shines in the house and you can see the little dust particles in the air, Karsten calls those bugs and tries to catch them.

Here are a few action shots - they're a bit blurry but he moves fast when he's trying to catch those pesky dust bugs.

Little fish

It's swimming time again, today was Karsten's first swim lesson this season.  They reviewed much of the skills they learned during last year's lessons, and he seemed to remember quite a bit.  He had fun splashing Scott, I think that might have been his favorite part of lessons.

He likes swimming on his tummy way better than his back.

Swimming on his back and trying to flip over.

Liam and I sat by the side of the pool and watched the swimmers.

I tried to recline the stroller because he was looking kind of sleepy.  That seemed to wake him up and he wanted to sit up more so he could see the pool.

Wishing he could go swimming too!

Wonderscope

Scott was on spring break during this rainy March week. He had grand plans to spend lots of time working in the yard, but alas, the weather had other plans. I took the day off on Friday and we took the boys to Wonderscope . It's in an old school building and each room has a different theme.

The ball room had a bunch of fun activities for you to roll the ball down a ramp, in a big spinning thing, around a circle and a bunch of variations on each of those.

Liam did a great job hanging out in his stroller.  He snoozed for part of our visit but wanted to look around for the rest of the time,

Karsten was driving the spaceship to find space Mickey!

These gears were so cool - they were magnetic and if you put them in the right spot, it would turn all of the gears.

The Vet room was super cool.  It had cages with stuffed animals, plastic tools, water dishes, almost anything you could need to help a pet.

Taking the dog's blood pressure.

Checking out the dog's ears.

Train's are always a favorite!

The art room wasn't as much fun for him - he was ready for a new room pretty quickly.

The H2O room was a big hit.  He played at this water table for a long time.  We had a minor issue because his sleeves got wet and he HATES to be wet.  We pushed the sleeves way up and he was able to forget about them.

There was a snake in the water room and Karsten was cautiously interested in watching him.  He wasn't so sure what to think.

This cool submarine was built out of legos!

And what kid doesn't love big foam blocks? Add a big foam stick and Karsten was having a ball.

Enjoying the ride.
