We took the boys together and I was worried about how the nurse was going to get both of the shots done without one or the other boys being scared after watching his brother get a shot. Karsten went first and Scott tried to distract Liam so he wouldn't watch. As soon as Karsten saw the shot, he said "NO NO NO, I WANT A DRINK OF IT, I DON"T WANT A SHOT" If only that was an option, buddy! Unfortunately, since he has respiratory issues from time to time, that meant that he couldn't have the nasal mist. There was no distracting Liam from the chaos of Karsten getting his shot, because as soon as she gave him the shot, Karsten screamed a bloodcurdling scream and just kept screaming. As Liam was watching in shock, the nurse quickly gave him the shot and then he cried for a minute, then was fine.
So - we survived. Barely, if you ask Karsten. There was limping, whining and lots of tears. Luckily, he stopped crying when we promised ice cream.

Ice cream makes everything better. Now let's hope these shots help keep us healthy this winter!
