Hard work on Labor Day

We're taking advantage of the long weekend to get some projects done around the house.  My dad came over to help Scott fix a section of our fence that had a lot of wood rot.  They thought it would be a quick repair, but I was skeptical.  Five hours later, they admitted it took longer than they anticipated.  It was so hot outside, the boys and I stayed inside - as Liam would say 'it's terrible hot outside'.

The fence looks great, but the next step is painting the fence - another long, hot job!

Today, we went over to my parents house so Scott could help fix a few spots of wood rot and paint a few spots on their house.  It was another hot day, and again, it took much longer than they had anticipated!

My mom and I looked out the window and laughed at this picture - Chuck, Karsten and Liam 'supervising' in the shade while Scott was up on the ladder.




Thank goodness for a three day weekend - looking forward to a day of relaxing and no projects!
