A Spoon

We decided not to feed Karsten rice cereal at four months after the doctor recommended that waiting may help him avoid some of the food allergies I had when I was younger. What we didn't count was Karsten being super hungry! He went from having a six ounce bottle every four hours or so to wanting another bottle in 2.5 - 3 hours! He's a hungry boy.

So I called the doctor and she said it would be okay to start him on rice cereal but to definetely not start any other food until he is six months old. SO...we decided we would wait until five months and give cereal a try!

What to Expect in the First Year suggested allowing a baby to play with a spoon while you eat to get him used to the idea. Who knows if that works - we'll give it a try. If nothing else, it's something else Karsten can put in his mouth. :)
