Lucky Me

I had a wonderful birthday! My day started when I got to meet my birthday twin, Elam Perdaris. Jen and I seem to have a tradition of taking pictures of each others baby when they are just born. I took pictures of Eden getting her first bath and resting in the warmer, then Jen took amazing pictures of Karsten and Scott in Karsten's first minutes of life. When Jen's c-section was scheduled on my birthday, it seemed like the perfect day to take a vacation day from work and continue our tradition.

I spent the morning at the hospital with Jen, David and Elam. After I left, I went to Mr Gyros for lunch then ran a few errands and did some shopping. It was a nice afternoon - I enjoyed myself.

I picked Karsten up around 5 and we headed home to get Scott so we could meet Chuck and Shannon for dinner at Stroud's. When I got home, I was SO surprised to see beautiful flowers on the counter. Scott and Karsten even made me a beautiful card with pictures of Karsten on it.

Then we met Chuck and Shannon at Stroud's for dinner. Stroud's is a famous chicken restaurant in Kansas City - they have wonderful fried chicken, mashed potatos, gravy and cinnamon buns. It's definetely not a healthy meal, but it's sooo yummy! We showed up for dinner and were shocked that there was an hour wait...on a Thursday night! Turns out Stroud's was on Man vs. Food the night before, now a bunch of people want to try it out.

Karsten is a grandpa's boy lately, so Chuck did a great job entertaining him while we were waiting for our table.

Karsten was way more interested in eating whatever Grandma gave him rather than what I gave him. :)

A great birthday!

After dinner, Karsten went home with Grandma and Grandpa then Scott and I went to the hospital so Scott could meet Elam. He was still super cute! Can't wait to see those eyes open - I bet they are beautiful!
