Swimming and Celebration

Saturday was Karsten's second swim lesson. We asked him if he was excited to go swimming and he enthusiastically said YES!

They learned how to get into the pool - he thought that was pretty fun because he liked the splash it made.

I had to switch to my phone for some of these pictures because the battery on my camera died. I think they are playing 'Pop goes the weasel' and Scott pops him out of the water.


Practice sliding off the side into the pool - this was his favorite activity.

Then they would throw the rubber duck and 'swim' over to get it.

And this is what happens at the end of lessons - Karsten wants to stay in the pool. He is not happy with drying off and getting out of the pool.

After we convinced him to get his clothes changed, we set off to Wyatt's birthday party. Wyatt is Karsten's daycare buddy. Karsten is enamored with the cartoon Super Why, and the character's name before he turns into a superhero is Wyatt. So Karsten thinks his friend Wyatt is the coolest.

The party was at PowerPlay and the kids had a great time in the bounce house, on the climbing equipment, train and in the little cars.

Karsten loved this little train that went around a tiny track a few times. The first time he rode it his hands were out in front of him like he was bracing himself. Then he got more comfortable and sat like this. He went around once and when the lady came by to try to get him off the train, he said 'nope' and stayed put. He got to ride again. :)


It was a great morning - we took a very tired boy home for a much needed nap.
