On his birthday, the three of us went to Zarda for some BBQ and ended the evening with an ice cream cone. Karsten had never had an ice cream cone before - I think he's a fan!

Karsten and Scott opening Scott's birthday present - a rain-train sprinkler. Yes, a sprinkler - I know, it doesn't seem like a fun thing to want for your birthday, but he REALLY wanted it so who am I to argue with that! :)
Karsten thought it was pretty cool - he said 'tractor, yellow one, daddy's'.
His next birthday celebration was at my parents house and he finally got to blow out birthday candles. I made birthday oreo truffles for his birthday - it's hard to put a candle in those! Karsten enjoyed blowing out the candles with Scott so much that they had to do it twice.
It was so nice we sat outside for a little bit. Karsten didn't want to sit on anyone's lap, he wanted to sit in the chair all by himself.
