Grandpa's Tractor

When we went to the "Touch a truck" event, the vehicle with the longest line was the tractor. We didn't wait in the line because we knew Karsten could visit a 'real' tractor. When we asked him this morning if he wanted to go see Papa's tractor he was so excited!

You can't see his expression very well in this picture, but his mouth is open in surprise at how big the tractor is.

We thought the tractor wheel would be a good photo opp so Grandpa put Karsten inside the wheel but he was having none of it, he wanted to be IN the tractor.

Checking out the tractor with Grandpa.

He thought it was pretty cool to sit in the tractor. He didn't act scared of the size at all.

Scott thought it would be a good photo opp to have his picture taken in the tractor wheel. I have to agree. :)

Grandpa even let Karsten steer the tractor! At this point they weren't moving...yet.

Then Karsten got off Grandpa's lap because he wanted to reach all of the controls. That's when they decided to start the tractor and take it for a spin.

Getting ready to move - waving goodbye!

Then Karsten decided that Scott should come along on the tractor ride.

After the tractor ride, there was another tractor for Karsten to check out. He kept trying to steer the wheel on this one, but it wasn't outside and ready to be driven.

Then we checked out the combine which was HUGE! Check out how little Karsten looks in those wheels.

Scott and Karsten climbed up in the cab to check it out. Again, he wanted to drive it, but it wasn't outside and ready to drive.

And of course they had to check out the milo. Karsten was pretty fascinated with the gravel driveway.

My goal with this picture was to get both of them to smile and look at me in front of the milo. HAHA.

This was closer - they are both looking toward the camera.

And then we attempted the photo opp with Grandpa - again, no one was feeling this photo opp.

We were going to go visit a baby cow, but she was hiding somewhere so we went to look at the cats. Karsten is not so sure about cats - he enjoyed watching them but didn't want to pet them or let them get too close.

He was pretty fascinated when the cats jumped up on the hay bales. But he was cautiously watching from a distance. If they got too close he would say 'those cats scared me'.

On our way back to Grandma and Grandpa's house, we saw a bunch of cows. We stopped along the road so Karsten could see the cows. We saw a baby cow and I pointed it out to him. He was quick to say 'no mommy, baby calf not baby cow'. AH...right. My mistake. :)
