Thankful turkey

As we put our Christmas decorations up, it's time to put the thankful turkey away.  I love that Karsten wrote some of the items he was thankful for, it's so sweet to see his handwriting on the feathers.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We came home today with plans to put the tree up tomorrow; however, on our drive home we changed our plans and decided to put the tree up tonight.

I unwrapped the ornaments while the boys and Scott put them on the tree.  Liam liked to congregate all of his ornaments in one place on the tree - right next to each other hanging on the beaded garland.

Each year, we add a family photo ornament to the tree.  Scott and I have been doing it since we got married.  It's fun to line up the ornaments each year and see how we've changed and now, how the boys have grown.

Everyone wears their tree skirt as a cape, right?

These two are excited for Christmas - we're looking forward to a wonderful December!

Thankful for playing

It was nice enough outside on Friday that the boys could play outside. They were anxious to get out and have fun together.

Karsten tried his hand at baseball.  We learned that Scott is not the most consistent pitcher, but Karsten got some tips on his form from Trent and Taylor.

Liam had fun playing croquet while the big boys played baseball.

For some reason, Liam will not go down a slide unless someone is holding his hand.  He used to go down them on his own, and I don't recall him falling or having a bad experience with a slide.  Who knows, perhaps it's a phase.

Folding

Karsten has a newfound skill - folding quilts.  One day we were cleaning up before bed and this is what Karsten did with the quilts.  Pretty good folding if you ask me!

Planning ahead

Karsten went through all of the toy catalogs that have arrived in the mail and circled all of the toys he wants on his Christmas list.  Then, he asked for five pieces of paper so he could write a letter to Santa to let him know what he wanted.

Lucky for santa, Karsten writes large so the list really isn't a long five pages!

Classics

Lately, the boys have had a great time play with the Fisher Price farm I had when I was a little girl.  It's fun watching the stories they come up with and how they play with the animals, tractor, trucks and people.  When I saw how much fun they were having, I dug out the Fisher Price play house.  It was jam packed with small furniture and little people, so I pulled most of those out so they didn't get lost or become things they argue over.

They had so much fun with this house and the farm, each time we played with them or they played together they had a different story.  I love watching their imagination at work.

One time, Captain Hook kept coming to the house and taking the farm and flying away with it.  Jake (from the Neverland Pirates) was not happy about this, so he helped the farmer get his farm back.

I wonder what other old toys I have in the basement that they may like!

Liam's 3 year pics

We had Liam's 3 year pictures in early October, and I've been dying to see them.  The boys were cooperative at times and quite challenging at other times, so I wasn't sure what moments Courtney was able to capture.  I should have known better than to worry, she did a great job with all of our photos in the past, and this was no exception!

Usually it's a challenge to find a picture where both boys are smiling in the same picture; however, there are so many awesome ones from this session, I don't know how I will choose!  A big thank you to Cheri for allowing us to take the photos at her farm - it was a beautiful backdrop for the photos!

I love this...

We brought their boats that my dad made since we were going to be by the lake!

Blowing kisses!

Shortly after the picture above, Liam tried to tackle Karsten and try to kiss him.  Why?  Who knows...

This face says 'no, I am done smiling for you.'

Just jokes!

When did this happen?  He looks so grown up!

This is totally Liam - sassy and funny
