Farewell Summer!

Karsten doesn't start school until Tuesday, so I decided to take the day off to spend with him. We started our day with one of his favorite things - miniature golf!

He chose the side of the course with all of the fun obstacles.  After we took our picture with the python, he thought we needed selfies with all of the obstacles.

He also wanted to see what was inside the ghost - he said it looked gross in there and invited me to take a look.  I politely declined. :)

We took this pic while I was resting on a bench for a minute after Karsten's club smacked me across the jaw.  He swings like he is trying to drive the ball down the green.  My jaw hurt where he hit it, but the other side actually hurt more.  After we ran some errands, we had a few minutes to spare before picking up Liam, so we stopped at my chiropractor to see if he could make my jaw feel better.  Thankfully, it definetely helped!  Lesson learned - don't stand behind Karsten at mini golf!

Karsten and I had a mid-morning snack and Liam mentioned he had a snack as well, so I decided to postpone lunch a bit.  We headed to the new Sheel's to check it out - I've heard great things.

The boys were immediately excited to see all of the statues outside.  They made a beeline for Abraham Lincoln for their first pic.

Next up was Ronald Reagan.  They were like 'who's this guy?!'

Inside, they had a giant bear and moose.  We were barely in the doors and the boys were already thrilled with this store!

It was a pretty amazing store - huge and full of so many diverse products.  It was definetely not limited to hunting or sporting goods.  There was a giant taxidermy display that the boys enjoyed.  For each new section, they pointed out the new animals.

After Sheel's, we headed to my favorite Mexican place for lunch. When we left, Karsten said that we should have ice cream to celebrate their first days of school.  How could I resist that pitch?

We sat outside to eat our ice cream, but they said it was too bright to look at me.  Liam is pouting a little because he dropped a bit of his ice cream.
