This is supposedly a replica of what the South Lawn of the White House looked like while Reagan was in office. I don't think the view was the same.
This is an actual slab of the Berlin Wall. In side the museum they had a great display and showed a lot of the history during this time.
This is a memorial to the victims of 9/11. This beam was a part of one of the towers. I was amazed to see the twisted metal.
What really got my attention while I was doing my research on places to visit was the Air Force 1 display. In addition to Air Force 1, they also had some of the vehicles that were part of the President's motorcade.
I had to squeeze into the corner of the building to get this shot of Marine 1 and Air Force 1.
The glare really takes away the great view of the country side.
Perfect 3 point landing. I knew these pilots were the best of the best, but wow. Great landing! Actually, the plane arrived in pieces. They showed pictures of the place traveling down the road. You have to travel through a neighborhood to get to the museum, so I can't image all the tight turns they had to make. How cool would this have been to see Air Force 1 out your front door? For some reason they would not allow pictures inside the plane. There was still a typewriter on one of the desks and containers of Jelly Belly candy throughout the plane. The new Air Force 1 is about 4 time large than this one. I did get to stand in front of the plane and give the Presidential wave.
Just a cool picture.
This statue of Ronald and Nancy greeted you as you walked into the museum. Such a great couple. They had on display many of the love notes that Ronald wrote to Nancy. They had such a great sense of humor.
Lisa was still in meetings, so I decided to make a quick stop to Ventura Pier. I am still amazed the temperature changes that occurs from the coast line to inland. It was 93 degrees at the library and 70 degrees along the coast.
