What Would Santa Do

We had a dilemma on our hands.  Santa delivered a defective motorcycle - it was supposed to jump and it didn't work.  We read the directions and tried it a million times but the darn motorcycle would not jump.

One day when Karsten was being his alter ego 'naughty Karsten', it gave us a convenient reason to remove the motorcycle from the toy box and ponder how Santa was going to repair or replace it.  We had hoped for a replacement motorcycle that we could sub in without him knowing anything different.  Bet you see where this is going...we were not able to find a replacement motorcycle.  After two stores, we accepted that we needed a plan to explain why Santa replaced the motorcycle.

Scott came up with the brilliant plan for our Elf on a Shelf, Jingle Bells, to return from the North Pole to deliver the new motorcycles from Santa.  BRILLIANT!

Jingle Bells had a note from Santa that apologized for delivering a broken motorcycle and said that he hoped Karsten would enjoy these motorcycles.

Karsten was thrilled - Jingle Bells came back AND he got a new toy!  It was like Christmas all over again.  Crisis averted!
