Sunday routine

Each Sunday on the way to church, we remind the boys of the rules - inside voices, listen and sit in your seat. They always start great - sure, we have to remind them to use inside voices, but for the most part, they follow the rules.

Karsten goes to Children's Church, and when Liam sees him leave, he holds up his hands and says 'yaya??' Then when Karsten returns, Liam excitedly says YAYA!  YAYA!  YAYA!  We've working on having that converstion in a quiet voice, but Liam really only has one level of talking.

Toward the end of mass, they both get antsy.  We've read the books I brought, done the mazes, played with the trains, had a snack, played with stickers and drawn a bit.  If we make it through without any outbursts, we're home free. It's always such a relief when we've had a good day at church - it sets the tone for a good day.

When we were walking out to the car today (a good day), Liam didn't want to hold our hands, so I asked him if he wanted to hold Karsten's hand.  Immediately, he said 'YEAH!' and Karsten happily obliged.  When we got to the parking lot, I took Karsten's hand and Scott took Liam's hand.  We reminded them that we always hold hands in a parking lot - Karsten said 'we have a lot to teach Liam, don't we mommy'.  How cute is that?
