Papa's Shop

For Karsten's birthday, Papa gave him the pieces to made a wooden box and told him they would build it together in his shop. The boys spent the night with Grandma and Papa a few weeks ago, so Karsten spent some time with Papa working on his box.

They got it all glued together and then put clamps on to keep it together while it dries.

Karsten was a big fan of the 'hole-maker' machine.  We have several new pieces of wood at our house with holes in them.  Papa told Karsten that he could do what he wanted with them, so Karsten decided they should be a canvas for his artwork.


I tried to explain that we shouldn't color on wood, but Karsten said 'Papa said I could do what I wanted with it'.  Sigh.  So, we now have a beautifully colored piece of wood on display at our house.


Last weekend, my mom made the first peach pie of the season, so we went over to their house for dinner.  We went a bit early so Karsten could work on his box with Papa.


Making sure they sand all of th eneeded areas.





This box will be ready  hold all sorts of treasures.


Don't feel too bad for Liam since he didn't get to work in the shop - he had Grandma all to himsef!
