Organizing Legos

I have many pins on Pinterest of ideas to organize Legos, but it turns out I didn't need any of those, because once Karsten has built a Lego set, he doesn't want to take it apart.  He leaves them in tact and plays with them - it's hard to argue with that. However, I want to reclaim my coffee table in the living room and move these creations to his room.

I had imagined floating shelves being the solution for storing/displaying the Legos, but my mom saw a great idea in a magazine that was way cooler than boring straight shelves.  This is a series of boxes joined together and some of them have removable shelves in the middle for more storage. We drew it out and my dad built it - how cool is this?  I think it's the perfect addition to his room!

I think Karsten inherited my love for organizing.  As my dad and Scott were hanging the shelves, he kept asking if he could put his Legos on it yet.  When I tried to help, he reminded me that it was his room and he got to choose where the Legos went.  This is why my mom is holding Legos for Karsten rather than helping him put them away.


If Grandma coudn't help, you know Liam wasn't allowed to help!  He settled for watching.
