The Fun Place

Each year, the company I work for sponsors an employee day at Worlds of Fun.  The park is closed to the public and only employees and their guests are allowed in the park.  We told Karsten that we were going to Worlds of Fun, and as a description, we just called it the fun place.  So, that name stuck and he was excited about going to the fun place.

The carousel was one of the first things we did when we got there.  Karsten carefully chose which horse he wanted to ride on.

We also decided to check out the special dinosaur exhibit.  It was an additional fee; however, Karsten is enamored with dinosaurs so we took a chance on it.

As soon as he saw the first dinosaur, he was off and running.  He kept gasping and saying 'LOOK MOMMY AND DADDY", then he would turn around and see another dinosaur and run over to it.  He was in heaven!

The dinosaurs moved and had sound, so there was something interesting to see at each dinosaur.

Liam loved the dinosaurs as well.  He kept pointing to them and saying DAAAA - my interpretation of that was 'hey look, another one!'

I'm pretty sure Liam was talking to a dinosaur here.

Look at that guy!

He stopped running and checking out the dinosaurs for me to snap a quick picture.

About halfway through the exhibit, they had a sand pit where you could dig for dinosaur bones.  Liam was more interested in throwing the sand.

Then he was off and running again when he spotted the huge dinosaur with the long neck. I think it's a brontosaurus.

He's soooo big!

Just look at him!

There was even a fighting scene of dinosaurs.

Checking out more dinosaurs.

Someone was getting a little sleepy.

Several of the dinosaurs had these buttons that you could push to make them move.  These provided endless entertainment!

After dinosaur days (as Karsten calls it), we headed over to Camp Snoopy (aka the kids area).  We rode several rides; however, Karsten was just a bit too short to ride some of them alone, so we got to ride with him.

Posing with 'snow-fe' as Karsten calls Snoppy.

Liam got to do some rides too.  First he drove a monster truck.

Karsten rode the mini detonater which goes up and down quickly.  He did it last year and wasn't scared at all, so he was ready to get on it again this year.

After a funnel cake snack, we rode the carousel on our way out of the park.

I couldn't believe it - Karsten actually smiled for a picture as we were leaving the park.  YEAH!

I thought we could get a cute picture in front of the dinosaur.  All was looking hopeful, then the darn dinosaur went ROOOOOAAAAR and this happened.

Then it was time to head home with two very tired little guys.  Another great day at Worlds of Fun!  Looking forward to next year!
