Take me out to the ballgame

We've started an annual tradition of going to a baseball game with Linda, Leleand, Kelli, David, Trent and Taylor.  The first year we went to a Royals game, the second and third years we went to a Tbones game.  We've decided we like the Tbones games best because it's so family friendly!

The forecast called for rain on Saturday, but we were hopeful that it would clear off before the game.  We were lucky and the weather cooperated.

The boys aren't big sunglasses wearers, but the sun was so bright, they gave them a shot.

For some reason I couldn't get Liam's sunglasses to sit squaretly on his face, but he didn't seem to mind!

Taylor and Karsten had fun playing superheros while Scott cooked hotdogs.

Liam was quite the helper, he ate his food then walked around getting everyone more grapes and hot dogs.  Grapes may or may not have made it back to the recipient, but he sure tried hard!

Once the cookies came out, he took a break to pick all of the mini m&m's off a cookie.

Enjoying a cookie in the shade.

I think tailgating will be a new tradition before the baseball games, everyone had a great time!

Karsten was excited to find Sizzle, and as soon as we got to our seat and Karsten spotted him, he was ready to go see him. Trent said he would take him, so off they went.  Then, Liam decided he wanted to see the cow, so we chased down the boys.  As soon as Liam saw Sizzle, he started to cry and saying 'NO ME COW, NO ME COW!'.

Trent and Taylor brought their gloves to the game to catch foul balls. This year both Trent and Taylor got to throw a ball back and forth with one of the players on the opposing team while they warmed up.  I thought it was so nice that this player took time to do this with probably 6-7 kids along the sideline.

Last year, one of the players threw a foul ball to Trent, and he was so excited.  He told Karsten that if he got a foul ball this year, he would give it to Karsten since he already had one.  Karsten was so excited and would tell anyone who would listen that Trent was going to catch a foul ball for him.  Karsten went to the restroom with Scott and as they were walking up the stairs, a player caught a foul ball and tossed it to Trent.

When Karsten got back, Trent showed Karsten the ball that he caught and that he was giving it to Karsten.

And this was Karsten's reaction - he was thrilled!

He gave Trent the biggest hug!  What a great cousin!

Karsten didn't let that ball out of his hand for the rest of the night.  When we got home, he even slept with it!

During the game, Leland went up to get a funnel cake for a snack.  When he walked down the row to his seat, Liam was right behind him.  If there is food in sight, Liam is not far away.  Look at that big smile on Trent's face as he spotted Grandpa's snack!
