Happy Halloween

Halloween pictures are the perfect end to my blogging drought. When I get this far behind, it's hard to get motivated to tackle the backlog and get back into the swing of things.  Please check back soon for some post dated fall fun posts

Karsten was excited to dress up as a cowboy for Halloween.  When I was trying to decide what the boys should be for Halloween, I knew I wanted them to be a pair of something while I could still influence their costume choices.  My initial plan was a cowboy and a horse for Liam; however, it seems to be impossible to find a horse costume.

It took a village to create this cute lil cowboy.  The chaps belong to my friend Ashley - when I told her he was going to be a cowboy, she said she had the perfect addition.  My mom made the vest and belt buckle from a pattern I found on Pinterest.  Scott's mom brought the horse on a stick from her house - it was Scott's when he was a kid.  Cowboy the horse (yup, that's his name) didn't get to go trick or treating with us, he just was in the photo opps.

He was excited to be a cowboy.  As soon as I brought his boots home, he wanted to wear them all over.  Aside from one incident where he toppled down part of the stairs wearing the boots (come on over, he'll gladly show you the mark he left on the wall with them), the boots have been a hit.

It's becoming a tradition for Jenn, David, Eden and Elam to come over and have dinner then go trick or treating with us.  We'll have to get this picture on the porch every year - it's already fun to see how much the kids have change between last year and this year.

Karsten and Eden were totally into trick or treating this year.  They held hands or walked right next to each other the whole time.  We heard a lot of 'COMON EDEN' or 'LET'S GO KARSTEN' when they finished up at one house and were ready to head to another.

His hat kept getting lower and lower as the night went along.  The brim is flexible, so as he pulled it down, it ended up staying in that position.  When he would talk to you, he would have to lift his head up so you could see his face.

Liam enjoyed watching all of the trick or treating festivities.  He got a few pieces of candy; however, since he doesn't eat candy and mom and dad didn't need any candy, we didn't collect any for him.

Elam was an adorable pilot - his costume was a big hit with all the houses we went to.

My cute little cow.

When we got back to our house, we decided to try to get a group picture before the kids got to eat some of their candy.  HAHAHA - you can see how well that went.

Scott and I with our cow and cowboy.  It was a fun Halloween!
