Ready to party

Despite party pre-planning, I always end up wrapping up party plans on the night before the party.  Scott has come to accept that I will likely be a bit overwhelmed, slightly crabby and insistent on doing too many projects when we should be going to bed.  When the boys see the decorations and get excited, it's all worth it (let's pretend that they're not just excited for the balloons, ok?)

The birthday boy is ready for his party!  The book you see on the table is a photo book with pictures from his first year.  I left a bunch of blank pages for people to write notes, advice, memories, etc.  I did this for Karsten and I think it will be fun to look back at in the future.  The quilt on the gift table is Liam's first  birthday quilt.  For Karsten's first birthday, my mom and I made bunting for decorations and had enough leftover to make a quilt. Since Karsten got a quilt, that meant Liam needed a quilt!

Decorations ready to go! I had seen the circle garland on Pinterest, and I thought it would be the perfect birthday decoration.  I cut a bunch of circles on my Silhouette and my mom saved the day by sewing them together.

The birthday boy working on his walking skills with Grandpa.  He took three steps on his own today!!

He loves balloons!

Doing such a good job standing on his own and taking tiny steps.

Having fun playing with grandma - he took a couple of small steps over to her!

Liam and Daddy.

Talking to grandma and telling her something very important.

We're ready for a great birthday party!
