Go Royals

We finished our busy weekend with a trip to Kauffman Stadium to watch The Royals play.  Each year, my work has a family day at a local amusement park, but this year, they offered two options - either a Royals game or the amusement park.  This was an easy choice for us as we have a high school graduation to attend the weekend of the amusement park event.

We headed up to find our seats when we got there, then we realized we had quite a bit of time before the game started and it was HOT in the sun.

Ice cream was the perfect answer to beat the heat!

Finally - it was game time!  Let's go Royals!

The Royals were not having a good day and the game got a bit boring when the score was 6 - 0.  Liam and I played around with my phone and took selfies.

Games on Scott's phone offer all sorts of entertainment when the game does not.

After the game, the kids could go on the field and run the bases.  Karsten didn't want to go but Liam did, so we gave it a try.  Ironically, when they got on the field (only one parent could go), Karsten took off running and Liam didn't want to go.

It was a fun day at the K - look forward to doing it again soon, but next time the Royals need to win!

We stopped to get one last picture on the way out, and a nice lady stopped to ask if I would like to get in the picture.  She says she knows how it is to always look like she is never at an event - I know all you moms out there are nodding your heads in agreement.
