The boys were antsy in the car and went through lots of toys and games. For a while they were playing with lacing cards and these shoelaces, then it was more fun to be silly with the strings. In this picture, Karsten had a long nose like an elephant.

Liam wanted his picture taken too, not to be left out!

I gave my phone to Karsten so they could take some pictures - here was the interesting outcome.

And Liam got his turn with the phone to take pictures.

Here is a lovely selfie of Liam's foot with his lovely Christmas sock.

Since we lost some time with the late start, we had a quick stop in Salina and got out dinner to go. He boys had fun having a picnic in the car. Soon after that, it got dark and Liam finally fell asleep but Karsten was wide awake and watched Big Hero 6.
Finally, we got to Linda and Leland's house and the boys were excited to see them. The first thing Liam said when he walked into the house was 'Where's Mabel' (the cat). Poor Mabel is old and she would much rather sit quietly by herself, but Liam likes to get in her face and talk to her and try to pet her.
Mabel likes to eat table food, so Leland got out some cheese for Liam to feed Mabel.

He was very careful about where he put the food so Mabel would get all of it.

Mabel was excited when she watched Leland get her food ready.

But her excitement quickly waned as she realized she was going to have an audience for her snack.

Soon we got them to wind down to have a bath, read a book with Grandma and get ready for bed.
