Torpedo in the sky

If you grow up in Kansas, you're accustomed to Tornado Watches and Warnings in the spring and summer months.  Thankfully, the weather has been very calm this year.  However, this afternoon, I saw clouds building in the west and about 10 minutes before I should have left work, the storm was super close.  I planned to finish up one more thing then head home.  In that time, the weather went crazy and there were tornado warnings near our house.

So, I worked and decided to wait out the storm.  Soon, the tornado sirens started going off at my office.  There were several of us watching the skies from the windows and the clouds were looking pretty scary.

Shortly after we saw these clouds, it started to pour and we could no longer see the clouds so we headed to the basement with the rest of the people still in the building.  Luckily, it only took about 15 more minutes before we got the all clear signal and were able to head home.

I hated to be separated from the boys and Scott in weather like this.  I would much rather be safely all together.  I hugged the boys when I got home and Liam told me they got to play in the basement because there was a torpedo in the sky. Love it.

Lucky you! I was in that same basement for AN HOUR! Not sure how you managed to make it only 15 minutes.
