When exploring Pinterest for dinosaur party ideas, I found a cool Pterodactyl hanging dinosaur that I wanted to get as a decoration. As I was shopping for him, I found his HUGE red dinosaur. I knew Karsten would love him!
Here he is getting his first look at the dinosaur.
I love how he's smiling so happily at the dinosaur!
Best buds.
Just chillin' with the dinosaur.
Then Karsten checked out the rest of the decorations. This was the first party where we invited his little friends, so I tried to streamline my food options a bit and just stick to dessert rather than a meal.
The adorable dinosaurs flanking the cake came from a recent conference I attended. Are they perfect, or what?!
This was another Pinspiration - Dino Bones - aka, chocolate dipped pretzels.
What's a birthday without a Cake-osaurus Rex?
And Dino Eggs for a little bit of fruit.
I had grand plans of making Karsten's birthday cake. I had pinned tons of ideas, some of them quite elaborate. Finally, it was about a week before his party and I realized that with everything going on, the cake was not going to happen. So, I ordered a cake from HyVee and only had them add piping around the top and bottom. I made the bunting with my Silhouette and scrapbook paper from my stash, put oreos and graham crackers in the food processor to make dirt, put some jelly bean 'rocks' on the cake, added two dinosaurs and a candle - VOILA! I was happy with how it turned out!
