Party Time!

We made dinosaur eggs for the kids to hunt in our backyard.  There were baby dinosaurs in the middle of the eggs, so when they found the eggs, they smashed them to find the baby dino.

TA-DA!

This is Liam's friend Quinton - he's Jaiden's little brother.  It's great that Jaiden and Karsten are so close in age and these two are within two months of each other.  I think they played with the aftermath of the eggs the big kids had smashed.

They found all of the dino eggs MUCH faster than I had anticipated, so it was onto the dino dig.  We buried a bunch of dinosaur 'fossils' for them to discover.

They played in the dino dig for a while, then we moved on to the growing dinosaurs.

Jenn grew a Pterodactyl.

Liam wasn't too into the dino dig or growing dinosaurs.  He just walked around pushing his lawnmower and checking out what was going on.

A triceratops!

Despite poking holes in the capsules, the dinos still took a while to grow and the kids started to lose interest.  We squished the remaining capsules to speed them along.

Peek-a-boo, I see Elam!

Liam just watching everything going on!

Quinton having a good time!

Then it was time to blow out his candle.

All the kiddos enjoying their cake, dino bones and dino eggs.

Everyone got to leave with a dinosaur snapper as a Thank You for making Karsten's birthday dino-mite!

The dinosaur was a hit.  The kids sat under him, tried to ride him (that failed miserably), hugged him, hit him - he was quite the trooper.

Finally, it was present time!  Jenn found a Bowser action figure and several other Mario guys - Karsten was SO excited!

He got several really cool dinosaur cards.

Gail also gave him some fun Mario stuff - a Mario lunchbox to carry his guys, Princess Peach, a Princess Peach driving a car and a Goomba.

Aunt Kelli always finds the coolest gifts.  The baseball tee was a hit, but he was really fascinated that there was a plastic sword IN his birthday card.

Thanking Jaiden for his cool Mario backpack and Yoshi car!

Thanking Gaga for his books and movie!

After presents, the boys wanted to try out all of his new 'guys'.

It was a great day, I think Karsten had a lot of fun and a Happy Birthday!  Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!
