How handsome is this ring bearer? Scott thinks we could put him in business - ring bearer for hire!
Brett, the beautiful bride, taking a break after pictures.
This was the best smile I could coax out of Karsten.
He wouldn't even give me a good smile for a picture with his crush, Cami!
We had some time to kill before the ceremony, so Karsten got to play on the iPad for a while.

The man on the left is Ned, my Great Uncle Charlie's friend since college. Uncle Charlie is 95 and has trouble seeing and hearing, so he wasn't sure he should come to the wedding. After much encouragement from us and Ned, Uncle Charlie decided to come for the ceremony. Here, Ned and Uncle Charlie are talking with Dee, who is Brett's mom.
Here's a good smile from the cute little ring bearer - he was chasing Cami around the waiting area!
Then it was almost time for the wedding to start, so my mom and Liam headed inside to sit down.
He was a pretty good date for Grandma!
Our family with Uncle Charlie and Ned.
Scott and I
After everyone else went in to sit down, we had some time to kill, so Karsten used up some energy by seeing how fast he could race down the hallway. While the minister was encouraging him to run faster, I was dreading what would happen if he tripped and fell. Thankfully it all worked out and he survived in one piece.
Karsten in official ring bearer mode. He was concerned that he was not going to carry a pillow like we had talked about. Eventually he agreed that he could just hold Brenna's hand.
Pretty darn cute ring bearer and flower girl!
Here comes the bride! Brett and Dave get ready for their big walk!
There was a bit of negotiating with with the flower girl. She wasn't sure she wanted to walk, then she wanted to hold chapstick instead of flowers - eventually they agreed she would hold chapstick and Karsten's hand.
Again, no pictures of the flower girl and ring bearer walking since I was in the back. I need to try to hunt down one of these pictures - someone must have one!
And so it begins...
Liam didn't take a nap before the wedding, and he fell asleep at church. He never falls asleep at church - Grandma and Papa must have the magic touch!
Brett and Michael saying hi to Uncle Charlie. They were glad he was able to make it!
Karsten showed everyone his 'guys' that he got for being a good boy at the wedding. Each time he got a new 'guy' he showed the minister and the wedding planner. They were kind enough to listen intently and ask him questions about each character.
I thought all of the talking while people waited in the receiving line would wake Liam up, but he was sound asleep. Unfortunately for Scott, it was toasty in the church and he got quite hot with Liam sleeping on him.
Playing with his characters while waiting for the crowd to go through the receiving line.
Brett's mom Dee, Brett and Shaunee.
Brett and I. Our maiden name officially ended at Brett's wedding since we were both the only children left to carry it on.
Karsten got his last guy at the beginning of the reception. He did such a good job at the ceremony and needed just a bit of encouragement to get on the right foot at the wedding. After a snack, he was in a much better mood - it had been a long time since lunch for his little tummy!
Doesn't the cupcake display look fabulous - and tasty! We've been working with Karsten to teach him that he doesn't have to touch every piece of something on a plate at home - basically, the 'you touch it, it's yours' rule. We were sure to clarify for him that he was NOT able to touch and get any cupcake that he wanted! :)
This cigar was the groom's cake - I didn't have any of it, but everyone who did said it was fabulous!
Handsome ring bearer sporting his casual look!
All of Karsten's guys lined up while we were waiting for our dinner to arrive.
My dad and Uncle Dave. They both had a great time seeing old friends that were at the wedding.
Then it was time for the toast - Dave had been checking his notes for the past few minutes, but we knew he would have a great toast.
I'd say the toast was a hit - it made Brett cry!
The first dance for the happy couple!
Father daughter dance!
Cami headed out to the dance floor with Karsten and Michael's mom, Margie, was dancing with a little girl. They had the idea of having the two little ones dance together. The kids were troopers, but neither of them understood what the heck was going on.
It looks like they're dancing, but they were rally just standing there looking at us like 'what the heck am I doing?'
Liam was enjoying the music - he was bobbing his head and swaying around in his chair. I tried to get him to dance with me, but he was having none of it.
Karsten and I went to the restroom during dinner and while we were walking back, he said 'who is that boy sitting next to that girl I played with last night (Cami)'. I told him that it was Cami's friend, Griffin. In a sad voice, he said 'but I wanted to sit by her again'. Awwwww how cute is that?!
I thought I would have luck getting a picture of Cami and Karsten after his comment, but nope, the little stinker would not look at my camera and smile. GRRR! Cami looks beautiful and Karsten looks like he's looking for someone!
Finally, it was getting late and when Scott asked Karsten if he was tired, he said yes. So, we headed back to the hotel - the boys were excited to be reunited with the ducks in the car.
In the car we had a chat about smiling at the camera - I told him if he smiled, I would only take one picture then he could get back to playing. When I asked him to smile with his duck, this is what I got! YAY! Do I hope this trend will continue?
My handsome guys and their ducks. It was a long day and they did great! Congratulations to Brett and Michael - we wish them all the best!
