Balloon Races

What's a perk of having a former science teacher for a dad?  All the cool experiements he knows about!  When Karsten showed us an experiment he did at school this year where he puts a balloon under water and lets go of the top in order to make bubbles, Scott disappeared to gather supplies for an experiment of his own.

Karsten was excited to show us the experiment.  He blew the balloon up on his own (he just learned how to do this), then he opened the baloon under water.

The first experiment didn't get enough bubbles so he blew it up and did it again.

Success!  Lots of bubbles!

Scott's experiment was a balloon race across the room.

First, you blow up your balloon, then tape it to the straw threaded on the twine.

Then ready....set....go!

Success!  The balloon made it across the finish line!
