Play Ball!

Tonight was Karsten's first baseball game.  While we waited to meet our coach and get started, the boys played catch.  Liam has quite the wind up, he'll swing his arm round and around in circles then lift up one of his legs.  He knows that he's seen players do his, but he's just not how to coordinate all of those movements.

When we met the coach, we realized we knew several of the kids from Karsten's pre-school. They weren't in his class but the school is small enough that he knew Carly, Greyson, Eddie and his sister. Karsten was excited to see some familiar faces!  The coaches started out by getting everyone to know each other and deciding on a team name.  They are officially the Royal Rocketships.

Karsten's shirt was HUGE, we think there may have been a mix up on sizes, but once it was tucket in, it looked beter.  He did a good job watching what was going on and not getting (too) distracted by other games or stuff going on around him.

First at bat and he hit it!  Great job Karsten!

Check out Karsten over the coach's shoulder on the right. He's to the left of the first baseman.  He's ready to catch it!

He made it to third - nice work!

The quick run to home plate!

Good game everyone!  We had a great time watching him play!  It was great - all of the parents of both teams were cheering for all the kids.  I loved the positive environment for the kids!

We were really impresed with the coaches.  They are great with the kids and are working on teaching them as well - a win/win combo!  Can't wait for many more baseball games.  I wish the weather could always be 80 degrees like today!
