Happy Birthday Karsten!

Karsten's birthday started with a little ipad watching snuggled with Liam.  I thought I could sneak the picture without them looking at me, but no such luck.  They always look so cute together when they sit like this.

He got to open one of his presents before breakfast - a Lego set!  He was thrilled and spent all morning building his new Lego set.  Scott helped out a few times, but for the most part, he was able to do it on his own!

The boys met me for lunch and Karsten had requested mexican food.  When we arrived, I told the hostess that it was Karsten's birthday and when I ordered, I said 'the birthday boy would like...', so they would sing him Happy Birthday. At the end of the meal, the servers showed up to sing Karsten Happy Birthdsay, and I stepped over to the other side of the table to take a picture.  When I stood up, Karsten (who had been sitting next to me), DOVE under the table because he did not want to wear the sombrero.  We asked if they could sing to him, but he was in tears and didn't like that idea either.  Lesson learned - no birthday surprises for him!

He also got to request his birthday dinner, and without hesitation he chose homemade chicken noodle soup.  we asked several times to confirm that was what he really wanted and he always agreed.  He also requested a cookie cake for his birthday cake - who does love a cookie cake!

I still can't believe this handsome boy is 6.

One of his other presents was a stomp rocket which was a big hit.  We need to have a rule that the stomp rocket only gets played with in the front yard because we lost a rocket in the trees and one on the roof when we played in the backyard.  Thanks to Kevin and Melissa for the tip!

We only got to play for a few minutes before it was time to get ready to go to Karsten's baseball game!
