9 month pictures

I keep forgetting to share the wonderful pictures we had taken by KJane Designs. Just like his four and six month sessions, Kendra did a fantastic job.  Jenn keeps telling me I'm going to run out of wall space to hang all of these great pictures, and I think she's right!

We were debating locations for the photo shoot and at the last minute, I suggested the courtyard where I work.  Kendra came by to check it out and we agreed it would be a great location with lots of different 'scenes'.

Liam's not so sure why we're holding him up here.

I love this one!

Showing off those cute little teeth.

This chair used to belong to my grandma and I remember playing with it when I was a little girl.  We had Karsten sit in this chair in his 9 month pictures as well - he even wore the same Lover Boy shirt.

Kendra brought this wagon and it couldn't be more perfect for Liam to sit in.  Plus, it kept him contained so he wouldn't crawl away!

We started our photo shoot with five balloons - a nice odd number.  When we were ready to use the balloons, we went back to where we had tied them up and found that three of the balloons had escaped and flown away.  Oh well, Liam had fun with the two remaining balloons.

Karsten REALLY wanted to pull Liam in the wagon.  He thought if he just pulled really hard the wagon would get out of the mulch - it took lots of negotiating just to get him to stay in one place and not dump Liam out of the wagon.

One of Scott's student's said that Liam looks like a baby buddha in this picture.  I kind of see it but I think he's adorable.

Liam was worn out and ready for a nap.  This was one of the last pictures of the morning!

And look what a great smile Kendra was able to get out of Karsten!

If this little wagon ever disappears, Kendra should probably come see if Karsten has it.  He was in LOVE with it!

We even did a family picture.  It's so much easier when we're just taking pictures of the kids, but I'm happy with how this turned out.

Me and Liam.  I love his little smile!

That darn tongue!

Ladies and Gentlemen, attention please...

Imagine Karsten yelling that phrase while holding the swiffer duster out in front of him like a megaphone.  Are you laughing yet?  Karsten was pretending to be a circus announcer and would muster his best announcer voice, then yell "Ladies and Gentlemen, attention please...attention elephants......attention .

He would show us to our seats (because we were the audience) and we had to stay seated while he announced everything.  At some point during the process, he found his cowboy hat and put it on. He bent the hat a bit which is why the sides do not go up on the side like you would expect.

Pigs in a blanket

What do the boys have when mom's not home for dinner? Pigs in a blanket! Scott had a good helper to roll up the hot dogs in the crescent rolls. Karsten told me all about his pigs under covers (his name for them), and he was proud that he had helped make them.  He also said that Liam liked them too.

I spent the evening at the baseball game for a work event.  We were on a party porch in the outfield - I had never seen a game from that angle.  I *think* the Royals won - I may have been chatting more than watching the game.

The park

It was beautiful outside today, so we told Karsten if he finished dinner quickly (he's developed quite the habit of drawing out dinner), we could go to the park.

When we got to the park there was a little girl playing in this window and selling pretend ice cream to her mom.  Karsten watched intently but did not go up and try to play with her.  When she moved along to something else on the playground, Karsten went over to the window and told Scott that he was selling ice cream.  When the little girl came over, we asked Karsten if he could sell her ice cream, but he ran away.  He's not normally shy, but he does like to watch for a minute or two when he's unfamiliar with the situation.

We asked Karsten if Liam could slide down the slide with him.  Sure, he said...and off they went.  In this picture, Liam looks happy and ready go to.

As they slid down the slide, Liam started to cry. At first we thought he was scared, but after a second look, we saw the problem.  Liam's foot had gotten stuck on the slide and was trapped under Karsten's leg.  Ouch - poor little guy.  He shook it off and was fine in no time.

Leaving the park was a bit tricky because Karsten was having so much fun playing.  After a 3 minute and 1 minute warning that we were leaving, Karsten was ready to go see if the horses were out so he could say hi.

Dinos

It's funny how toys are cyclical with kids.  One day or week, Karsten will be infatuated with a toy - it will go to Gail's with him, sleep in his bed and sit on the dinner table.  The next week, that toy lays forgotten in the toy box and there's a new object of Karsten's affection.

This weekend, Karsten was infatuated with his little dinos. He would set them all up like this, they would have conversations, they would shake tails - he was in a whole little world with them.

I crept up behind him to take those pictures, but after I took a few pictures, he decided he needed to take a few pictures of the dinos with HIS camera.

Big Boy

Liam's carseat was getting too heavy for me to carry in and out from the car, so it was time for him to move to a big boy carseat.  This meant that Karsten got to move to a bigger carseat and Liam moved into Karsten's old seat.  Scott brought Karsten's seats (from my car and his) into the house and we washed the covers. Then he fitted Liam so the straps were in the correct place.

Today was our first day without the baby carrier for Liam.  My back appreciated the change to the new carseat, but I'll need to adjust my routine a bit.  It was kind of nice to have Liam confined to a carseat while I finished some last minute things in the morning.

{Great} Pappa Pants

When Karsten was a baby, one of Scott's aunts gave him these adorable overalls.  I was never lucky enough to meet Scott's grandpa before he passed away; however, it sounds like he often wore overalls that looked like these.  I guess the kids started to call overalls 'Pappa Pants'.

I can't find a picture of Karsten in his Pappa Pants, but Liam looked pretty darn cute in them today.

Love these days

I love lazy weekend days when we have nothing planned and can stay in our PJs all morning.  The boys were so cute playing with each other - I tried to snap a few pictures without bothering them, but I think they know the sounds of my camera and they both looked up.

Aww, what a good big brother!

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - I love a baby in footie PJs!

Relaxing and playing some Angry Birds.

Catch me if you can!

His shirt says it all - Liam is a man on the move.  If he's on the floor, he's racing over to Madison's water so he can splash his hands in it or tip over her food bowl or he's finding his way to our laptop cords.  Perhaps we need to babyproof more?  Nah, we'll just work with him and help him learn the meaning of 'no' - that's what we did with Karsten and it worked a-ok.  Right now it's just a race to keep up with him!

He looks pretty innocent doesn't he.  :)

To me, he looks so grown up in this picture. Not sure what's going on with his hair - it's not really cut at an angle like it looks.

As you may have guessed from the wet spot on his shirt, he's drooling up a storm and chewing on everything he can get his hands on!

And he's such a happy little guy!

He really enjoys playing under his highchair - he'll push it around and giggle because he's pretty proud of himself.  Please excuse the random sock on the floor. :)

The celebration continues

I like to stretch my birthday celebration out as long as possible, so Scott and I just had my birthday celebration dinner. My restaurant choice was our favorite sushi place.  This time we remembered to take a picture of the sushi before we ate it. :)

YUM!  We 'may' have had another plate with more sushi on it, but I didn't get a picture of that one.

My birthday gift (thanks to gifts from my wonderful family) was a Silhouette Cameo.  I've been pondering this purchase for quite some time, but after scrapbooking with my friends recently and seeing one in action, I was sold.  I will use it all the time for scrapbooking, but it's also going to come in handy for Liam's first birthday party and various other crafts!

I immediately got it set up and we tested in out.  We were making a thank you card in Karsten's favorite color, yellow!  I think I'm going to have LOTS of fun with this!
