My birthday!

I had a great weekend celebrating my birthday with the boys. They got me this pretty birthday cake - I thought it was kind of odd that the center was blank, then Scott got out frosting for Karsten to decorate the center. What a cute idea!  Liam fell sleep on the way home from church, so he missed the cake decorating festivities.

Karsten helped me blow out his candles.  I had three, just like Karsten did.  If we had all the candles on the cake, we might have melted the frosting!


He couldn't take his eyes off the cake - he was ready to eat frosting.


Then I got to open my present - a new lens for my camera!  It is a portrait lens so I'll be able to get great close up pictures of the boys.  That's assuming they cooperate!
 

Then I got to try out the lens on Karsten. That's pink frosting around his mouth - would be nice if I had wiped it off, wouldn't it.
