Birthday celebration

We went over to my parents house on my birthday.  I got to select my birthday dinner and I chose my mom's fried chicken and white (aka cream) gravy.  I'm not a gravy fan, but I love white (cream) gravy with fried chicken. It was a healthy choice for my birthday dinner. :)

I played with this duck when I was a little girl.  I think my dad made it.  Karsten loves to run around and around their house and chase my parents with the duck and now Liam is entertained by the duck.

Karsten didn't want to have a picture before dinner. Shoot, I should have waited to take this until my mom got to the table!

My mom also made deviled eggs (or doubled eggs as Karsten calls them) since they are my favorite!

And what's a birthday dinner without a glass of wine?

I selected buster bar dessert for my birthday 'cake'.  If you've never had buster bar dessert, you're missing out. :)  It's a layer of crushed oreos, a layer of ice cream, a layer of hot fudge, more ice cream then whipped cream.  I had a helper so I could blow out my candles.

One of these was a trick candle.  I could NOT blow out the pink candle.  I huffed and puffed but it would not go out!  Finally, just as Karsten and I were about to give up, we took a deep break and together blew it out.

Liam had fun playing with Papa after dinner.  He likes watching Karsten play with Thomas on his train table. When Thomas drives past Liam, he tries to reach out and grab him.
