Christmas Countdown - Day 14 {Giving back}

I really wanted parts of our Christmas Countdown to be focused on giving back to others in the spirit of the season. A friend took her kiddos to a nursing home to hand out pictures they colored, and I loved the idea.  I shared my brainstorm with Jenn and she agreed that we should do it.  We chose this nursing home because Jenn's grandfather-in-law in a resident here.  I spoke to the activities director and learned that they would have a max of 90 residents - we had a lot of coloring to do!

Jenn found the holiday coloring sheets for us and took them to her kids school for the classes to help us color.  I took some coloring sheets to Gails, and with everyone's help, we had 90 sheets to hand out to the residents.  Hopefully the smiling faces of the kids brightened the holidays for a few people.

A quick group picture before we headed into the nursing home.

We told the kids if they were good at the nursing home, we would go have train food (aka Fritz's). The kids were very excited!

Elam rocked the shades all day - he was super cool.

Liam had a good time watching the trains go around.  Each time he heard them, he squealed and pointed.

Elam and Liam shared some fish crackers.
