Christmas Countdown - Day 8 {Visit Santa}

Each year, the company I work for has a Christmas party for kids of employees.  They rent a place that has tons of video games, small indoor roller coasters, climbing areas, a carousel, and they invite Santa to attend.

This year, the holiday party fell on the same morning that Scott was scheduled to deliver Christmas donations to adopted families.  So, we invited Shannon to attend with us to help me with the boys.

Santa is always the most popular guy at the holiday party, so we got in line to see him first.  We got there a few minutes early, so we were close to the front of the line.  I think that helped us get a good (non crying) picture, because Karsten didn't have too long to think about if he was going to be afraid of Santa.  The past two years we haven't had good luck with Santa - Karsten was afraid of him when he was 18 months as well as 2 and a half.

Getting a Santa pep talk from Grandma

When I plopped Liam down on Santa's lap, he turned and looked at Santa, then got a horrified look on his face, like 'who the heck is this?!'.  Before he started crying we got Karsten situated and tried to get the picture   Liam still looks scared and Karsten is doing his cheesy smile, but this is much improved over past years. I'll take it while I can since I bet Liam will be terrified of Santa next year.

Checking out the picture with Santa.

Karsten wanted to ride this little roller coaster.  I was surprised about how fast it went - it was fun!

We hit a few video games and then he wanted to ride the train.

The carousel is always a hit.  Liam wasn't so sure about it, he kept trying to wiggle off of it.

No mom, I will not smile at you.

Another fun holiday party - it's such a nice way to kick off the holiday season for the kids!  When we got home, we had loads of stories to tell Scott.  The roller coaster, Santa, the tiny plastic men that Karsten 'bought' with his tickets, donuts...so much to tell.

This little guy crashed shortly after we got home - seeing Santa is hard work!

Before he headed to bed for a nap, Karsten decided to read him a story!
