Karsten-isms

It's been a while since I've shared some of the recent Karsten-isms.  There hasn't been a shortage, I just keep forgetting to write them down!
  • We're still struggling every few nights with him wetting the bed.  The other night he woke us up and said 'DADDY, MY WHOLE SELF IS WET!'.
  • He says 'that's wierd' when he gets mad.
  • He still says "esterant" or "esterday", apparently that first consonant is difficult to say.
  • Karsten knows he is not supposed to say butt, rather bottom, so when he hears us say "sit on your bottom Liam", he says "that's good Mommy, we don't say butt."  Sigh.
  • He says "Can I ask you a favor?".  Typically he says this when he's trying to procrastinate going to bed - it's so cute that it's an effective strategy.  :)
  • Every time we see the Stop sign, he'll spell the word for me. I usually follow that up with asking him how to spell Go.  After he spells Go, I ask him how to spell Slow.  We'll add some more driving related spelling words soon!
  • He says 'shame rock' instead of 'shamrock'.
  • He substitutes the word 'meatball' in place of random words.  For example, we'll say 'please feed Madison, Karsten.' and he'll say 'please feed MEATBALL.'  We thought he was being silly and  chose meatball to substitute for random words.  The other day, we were standing in Gail's driveway talking to his friend Jaiden and his mom and I heard Jaiden say 'BYE Karsten meatball.' I commented about how the meatball lingo had made it to their house too, and she explained that it actually started at their house.  Ah ha - mystery solved!
  • He tells us that he is going to 'eney meany us' to decide who gets to help him with something.  Then he recites the 'eney meany miney mo, catch a monkey...'.  It's pretty cute and I'm guessing he learned it at Gail's!
  • He calls Mario a 'pisky plumber'.
  • Liam has started to pout and cry when we tell him no.  Karsten will say "awww, Liam.  It's okay, we still love you."
